About

I am a printmaker and painter living in Northern Nevada. Having grown up between the United States and South Africa, my work is primarily concerned with the natural landscape and the role that this plays in memory and identity formation. Since immigrating to the United States in 2022, my focus has shifted from Cape Town to the Sierra Nevada. Both landscapes are endlessly inspiring in their beauty, drama and variety. My work is often begun with plein air sketches and my etchings and monoprints use my own photographs as source material. I am constantly discovering new landscapes in my area and I love to explore these places with my husband and darling daughters.

I first developed an interest in printmaking during my undergraduate degree at San Francisco State University. I subsequently pursued graduate studies in fine art printmaking at the Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town. Along the way, I have been fortunate enough to be mentored by great artists like the painter Stephanie Sanchez and master printmaker Zhane Warren.
